Herta Silva was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and later lived in Mexico City before relocating to the United States in 1990. She studied English and Comparative Literature at the University of Connecticut and the University of Massachusetts Amherst, cultivating a lifelong passion for storytelling, culture, and visual expression.

Herta spent over a decade as a Graphic Designer and Art Director at Liz Claiborne Inc., Fifth & Pacific Companies, and Kate Spade & Company, building a robust foundation in multi-brand creative direction. She then joined Global Brands Group as Art Director in Marketing, focusing primarily on Aquatalia and supporting other luxury brands in the portfolio. Following a company restructure, she transitioned to Centric Brands, where she currently serves as Vice President, Creative Art Director. In this role, she leads an in-house photo studio and creative team servicing a diverse portfolio of fashion brands and divisions.

Beyond her corporate work, Herta is deeply committed to community and purpose-driven initiatives. She is the Co-Founder and Co-Chair of UNiDOS, Centric Brands’ Latin & Caribbean Employee Resource Group, dedicated to fundraising and volunteer efforts. She also helped launch Creators for a Cause, an internal marketplace featuring employee-made products sold to support charitable organizations.

A passionate advocate for social change, Herta has contributed design work to several nonprofit campaigns, including materials for Imagine Worldwide, Love Is Not Abuse, and No More, focusing on global education, anti-domestic violence, and sexual assault awareness.

In her personal artistic practice, Herta explores themes of women, fashion, culture, and ethnicity. A seasoned world traveler and multilingual creative, she draws inspiration from the people, imagery, and aesthetics she encounters across the globe. For over 25 years, she has been creating mixed media art using discarded fabric, paper, wood, and found materials sourced during her travels and through her NYC fashion industry connections. She often blends her visual work with motion and music, resulting in layered, evocative pieces that reflect her unique artistic vision.

“Herta is an extremely talented, creative and committed professional. She perfectly captured our brand and brought our vision of user-centered toolkits to life. I appreciated Herta’s highly collaborative approach to working together, her ability to set and exceed a high standard for quality, and her focus on the ultimate user experience. Her work is beautiful and she is an absolute joy! I would recommend Herta to other organizations for their design needs and am looking forward to the next time we have the opportunity to work together!”

- Susan Colby,
Co-founder at Imagine Worldwide

"Herta has an amazing range of creativity. Not only is her work original and inspiriting, she always over delivers! She has an incredible ability to produce memorable, impactful images on the tightest budget. Her branding is second to none. I have worked with Herta for over 2 years and plan to continue this very positive working relationship. She has a wonderful, accommodating personality. She never says "no" and always finds a way to make the impossible possible. I would highly recommend Herta Silva for all your creative needs!"

Tara Gallagher
Founder/President at CiCi Soleil Ltd.

"It is my pleasure to highly recommend Herta. We worked together, she as Associate Art Director and myself as Director of Marketing at Liz Claiborne Inc. (now called Fifth and Pacific). She was my partner in creating advertising and marketing campaigns and materials for three major brands: Liz Claiborne, Claiborne by John Bartlett and Monet brands.

Herta is a creative professional who understands both the creative and business sides. Herta is super creative and imaginative and most importantly, she understands timelines, budgets and business strategies -- assets that are so valuable coming from a creative person. She has designed creative for seasonal advertising campaigns, in-store signage, brand books, press materials, showroom creative and gwp promotions. Herta would be a HUGE asset to any marketing team."

"I had the honor of collaborating with Herta on several HR initiatives at Fifth & Pacific Corp (formerly Liz Claiborne Inc). Never have I worked with someone who can align creative expectations with business requirements and resource challeges like she can. She produces such amazing results with so little she leaves you wondering what's in her "secret sauce." She truly has a gifted eye, mind, and spirit. She designed and produced all types of collateral for me including video/flash teasers, brochures, signage, and a complete ceiling to floor room installation that transported everyone to a different place and mindset. If you're ready to transform how you feel, think, do business and your results, then run, don't walk, to Herta."

Jill Melnyk, Senior Manager, Organizational Development at Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics

"Herta has been an invaluable partner to me in helping me drive my business and launch new ones. Herta is not only extremely talented and skilled but she also has and incredible understanding of business triggers and provides creative solutions to move a business forward. The scope of work she can provide is very broad and her professionalism and flexibility is second to none."

Susan Balzan,
President Karl Lagerfeld Paris
at G-III Apparel

"I've worked with Herta for over 10 years. In my position it is rare to find someone who is as creative and knowledgeable as Herta but still keeps and eye on the reality of the situation. From design to fine art Herta offers all aspects that anyone could ask for in a Art Director or above. To say that Liz Claiborne and now under there new name Fifth & Pacific Companies Inc. has come to rely on Herta would just be stating the obvious. I highly recommend her to anyone interested in talent who knows how to channel it through the rigors of today's businesses climate."

Jay Fink
VP PRODUCTION at WARREN PRINTING

"I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Herta for ten years, first as a Production Artist, reporting to me, and eventually, as an Associate Art Director in the Creative Services department. Herta's immense innate talent and creativity are legend to everyone who has ever worked with her and seen the results of her ideas. I truly believe that she is either a genius or a magician or both. She is extremely attuned to client needs and industry trends and works well as a lead creative or as part of a team. She is resourceful, focused, self-reliant, intuitive, playful, and an original thinker. Despite the fact that Herta accomplishes so much more, with so little, so often, she never ceases to amaze. I am positive that the heights Herta will reach in her creative career are truly limitless."

"I have worked with Herta a number of times on different print and web photography projects for various brands. On set she has a clear vision of what she wants and has always been extremely pleasant to work with."

"Herta is a Machine - A Force of Creativity to be reckoned with and I am lucky to have seen her career path turn into a tidal wave of success over the last 10 years. Herta is one of those unique creatives that will always come to the table with fresh, new, strategically on point ideas but is also highly organized as a manager of people and projects. Her greatest weakness is her strength - that she makes her self indispensable to any brand or team she works with-- Once they are exposed to her unique style and work ethic there is no match for Herta Silva."

Margaux Caniato,
Principal/ Chief Brand Officer at VP+C

"Herta is one of the most creative people I know. She is capable of seeing the big picture and also creating from scratch the different components to make that big picture a reality. With a background in art, Herta has the ability to take her artistic brain and adapt it to any project, big or small, corporate or personal. She is someone you want on your team."
